Description of the painting by Salvador Dali "Pangs of conscience" (Option 2)

Salvador Dali's masterpiece "Pangs of conscience" is currently located in the US, Florida, St. Petersburg, in one of the private collections.

Salvador Dali in many of his paintings depicts hands. "Pangs of conscience" is one of Dali's most famous paintings, where the hand appears. The canvas was painted by the master in 1930, then it was not yet known to anyone. Is it possible that only Elena Dyakonova in those days believed in him and believed that he would become a world-famous creator. It is in the year of the creation of this masterpiece that she leaves her husband and leaves for Dali.

Dali rarely suffered remorse, such a state was not characteristic of him. Art critics believe that this painting just reflects a rare condition for the master. There is evidence for this: one of the many figures that are scattered across the canvas has the face of Elena Dyakonova. She is depicted sitting on a peculiar dollar sign, on the line where the boundary between the cubic gray city and the sandy desert chaos passes.

A large figure that catches your eye when looking at the picture is most likely the master himself, Salvador Dali. His face is shown gloomy, matching the color of a large cloud, to which he reaches out his huge hand. It is not clear what he is trying to achieve, either wants to catch the first drops of rain, or does not want to allow the desert to awaken and obscures the desired moisture from it.

Dali and Gala, although they are sitting very close, do not look at each other, their heads are turned in opposite directions. This speaks not only of remorse of the author of the picture, but also of his fear of the female sex.

The picture is filled with deep blue color. The green-yellow desert, the central character depicted in a caricature, the severity of the border of the desert and the city, all this mesmerizes the viewer, makes him peer into the canvas even more closely.
